The DFG Research Training Group 3125, ‘Reconciliation and its Equivalents in a Transcultural Comparison ‘, is looking to fill the following position from February 1, 2027 on, a fixed-term contract until January 31, 2031 in accordance with § 2 (1) WissZeitVG:

The DFG Research Training Group 3125, ‘Reconciliation and its Equivalents in a Transcultural Comparison’, aims to investigate concepts, strategies and practices of conflict transformation from an interdisciplinary and trans-cultural perspective, employing both synchronic and diachronic comparative analysis. Your tasks:
-
Writing a doctoral thesis on a topic within the scope of the Research Training Group,
-
active on-site participation in the Research Training Group’s activities as part of the study and qualification programme.
Your profile:
-
a university degree (Master’s, State Examination or equivalent) completed with above-average results, preferably in the subjects of Ancient History, Art History, Critical Museum and Heritage Studies, Early Modern History, English Literature and Cultural Studies, (Historical) Peace and Conflict Studies, History and Culture of the Islamicate World, History Education, Jewish Studies, Law, Modern and Contemporary History, Philosophy of Religion, Social and Cultural Anthropology, Social Sciences, and Reconciliation Studies,
-
an interest in interdisciplinary work,
-
English language skills at least at B2 level (C1 if the dissertation is to be written in English),
-
the ability to work effectively in a team.
