JIAS Writing Fellowship 2025 in South Africa invites passionate writers for a 3-month long writing program. This year the focus of the Writing Fellowship will be Global Blackness. At JIAS, the phrase “global Blackness” is used to indicate the institute’s commitment to analyze the variety of Black viewpoints, experiences, and intellectual practices, as well as Black theoretical approaches. JIAS fellowship invites analytical and multidisciplinary research projects as well as collaborative projects.
Former fellows who have been a part of this writing scholarship program included media professionals, researchers, independent researchers, scriptwriters, poets, and authors. While applying, writers have to mention their ongoing or new project that they intend to work on during this fully funded fellowship program. During the three-month residential period, fellows are encouraged to keep their other research or personal responsibilities on hold so that they can completely focus on their projects.
