RECRUITMENT NOTICE

JOB POSITION: LOADING AGENT CARGO HANDLERS

1. Primary Mission

The Loading and Cargo Handler’s primary mission is to ensure that luggage handling operations are conducted in accordance with safety and security standards.

2. Activities and Responsibilities

Loading Agents

• Take care of passengers’ luggage;
• Separate luggage according to the passenger’s destination in the gallery, following the stopover codes.
• Schedule the storage of luggage and parcels on/in the loading units (ULDs);
• Drive on the airport runway with luggage trolleys and container trolleys;
• Perform the unloading/loading of luggage, freight parcels and mail;
• Ensure the closing of the guillotines.
• Maintain the Unit Load Device (ULDs).

 

Cargo Handlers

• Carry, load, and handle goods or products, paying particular attention to the proper handling of each package;
• Comply with safety instructions related to the products handled and the working environment;
• Organise the storage of products according to the available space and type of packaging.
• Secure and palletise goods and packages (LTA-based racking, sorting, etc.); Drive on the ramp and operate handling tractors and baggage belts;
• Ensure the loading and uploading of baggage, parcels, cargo, and mail.

 

1. Required Profile

• Qualifications and experience
• GCE Ordinary Level or equivalent
• Driving licence (category B).

 

Technical skills

• Be able to carry, load and unload goods or products, paying particular attention to luggage and parcels;
• Be able to follow safety instructions relating to the products being handled and the working environment;
• Be able to adapt the handling conditions to the different products;
• Be able to organise the storage of products according to available space and packaging

 

Behavioural skills

• Excellent skills in working independently and as part of a team;
• Flexibility;
• Adaptable spirit;
• Strong interpersonal skills (listening, empathy, dialogue)
• Self-control;
• Sense of organization and rigour.

 

Other criteria

Be no more than 35 years old.

 

Working conditions

• Job location: Douala and Yaounde-Nsimalen International Airports

 

• Type of contract: 02-year Fixed-Term Contract, renewable once if necessary.

 

• Salary: Following the Cameroon Airports Plc. salary scale.
