CORE MISSION

Under the supervision of the Sub-Director for Internal Audit, the Senior Internal Auditor helps bring independent assurance to management and stakeholders in risk management and the effectiveness of controls while respecting existing regulations, policies and procedures.

MAIN ACTIVITIES & DUTIES

• *Prepare and plan audit missions (risk review, audit plan, specifications, work schedules, checklists, etc) subject to audit charter requirements;
• *Assess SOCADEL risks and the effectiveness of risk management processes in the audited domain;
• *Assess SOCADEL IT systems and operational processes as well as test them and analyse operational information;
• * Identify areas for improvement and risks as well as make relevant and reasonable recommendations to resolve these;
• *Assess internal controls and make recommendations for improvement;
• *Prepare or provide necessary annexes to external and internal auditors, based on the assigned missions;
• *Take part in fraud investigations;
• *Draft audit reports and make relevant recommendations;
• *Monitor the closure of audit recommendations alongside audited entities and other stakeholders;
• *Oversee and supervise teams (juniors and assistants) throughout missions;
• *Help with technical monitoring and improving on internal methodologies.

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• *At least a holder of a bachelor’s degree plus one year of post-graduate studies in Audit and Management Control, Finance, I.T. and Information System Management or in any related field;
• *Experience of at least 05 years in Internal Audit or at least 02 years in Accounting Function and 03 years in Internal Audit;
• *A chartered accountant certificate or certification as a Certified internal Auditor would be an asset.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

Applicants should have the following skills and experience:

• *Proper mastery of professional and audit standards;
• *Proper mastery of accounting and finance principles and practices;
• *Proper mastery of reporting procedures, regulations and laws;
• *Proper mastery of applicable regulations and standards;
• *Proper mastery of relevant audit software (SAP Audit module);
• *Mastery of office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
• *Mastery of tools for assessing and optimising processes;
• *Mastery of English and French would be an asset.
