Tiered Approach
In line with the commitment to safeguard capacity and support personnel already in the Organization, a majority of UNDP UNCDF/UNV vacancies are advertised using a tiered application process whereby:
- Tier 0: UNDP/UNCDF/UNV IP staff holding permanent (PA) and fixed-term (FTA) appointments, whose posts will be abolished, or contracts will be terminated or not renewed during 2026.
- Tier 1: Other UNDP/UNCDF/UNV staff holding permanent (PA) and fixed-term (FTA) appointments
- Tier 2: UNDP/UNCDF/UNV staff holding temporary appointments (TA), personnel on regular PSA contracts, and Expert and Specialist UN Volunteers
- Tier 3 or no tier indicated: All other contract types from UNDP/UNCDF/UNV and other agencies, and other external candidates

Background
The ICT intern provides technical support to staff of the UNDP Cameroon Office and the following entities: Projects, UN Clinic, UNDSS and RCO (UN Resident Coordinator’s Office), under the supervision of the “ICT Support Associate”.
Duties and Responsibilities
He/She will be required to assume the following responsibilities:
a) Installation, Administration et Maintenance
- Install/configure and administer ICT infrastructures according to established standard norms;
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair ICT equipment;
- Implement and maintain the security of ICT infrastructures (protection against viruses, etc.);
- Manage the inventory of ICT equipment
- Administering certain software and performing updates.
b) User Support (Helpdesk)
- Provide in-house training or support to staff on the use of IT equipment and user software (MS Office 365, OneDrive, Zoom, etc.)
- Providing support during meetings/teleconferences/videoconferences organized via Zoom & Ms Teams (setting up computer equipment, etc.)
- Performed other required tasks

- Ability to work in a team – Good interpersonal skills – Dynamic and enthusiastic. Ability to write reports and document work
- Sharing the values of respect, professionalism and integrity – Ability to work efficiently in a multicultural environment.
Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Being enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science is required
- Having recently (less than one year) obtained a university degree (as defined in point (a) above); is required
Experience:
- Good knowledge of user technical support
- Proficiency in Microsoft systems and programs (Windows 10, MS Office 365/MS Outlook email client/OneDrive, MS SharePoint, etc.) is an asset
- Good knowledge of Zoom and MS Teams video conferencing tools is an asset
- A good understanding of IT security, including firewalls and antivirus protection, and data backup and recovery procedures in case of disaster, is an asset .
- A good knowledge of computer hardware and software, as well as problem-solving and analysis techniques, is an asset .
- Proficiency in French and working knowledge of English OR proficiency in English and working knowledge of French;
