About the Denis and Lenora Foretia Foundation

The mission of the Denis & Lenora Foretia Foundation is to catalyze Africa’s economic transformation by focusing on social entrepreneurship, science and technology, innovation, public health, and the implementation of progressive policies that together create economic opportunities for all. In the bid to foster social entrepreneurship in youths, the Foundation addresses a crucial limiting factor: bilingualism through an intensive Language Immersion Program (beginner and intermediate levels) for both French and English.

Job description:

We are therefore seeking, for this purpose, four (4) highly diligent, bilingual, and activity-based learning-friendly facilitators with experience as an English language or French language tutor and hands-on computing. This position will be based in Yaoundé for 5 weeks, from June 16 to July 15, 2025.

Core duties

  • Developing and implementing all learning-related materials (images, videos, PowerPoint, etc.) per curriculum.
  • Ensuring proper classroom management.
  • Diligently coordinating all classroom activities, assisted by animators.

Skills and Qualifications

To be an eligible candidate, you need to fulfill the following:

  • Must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in English language, French language, Bilingual letters, journalism, or any related field;
  • At least one year of working experience as a tutor;
  • Good with online communications;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proficiency in English and French;
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint…);
  • Be a good team player.
  • Be extremely organized and have meticulous attention to detail;
  • Be creative and innovative;
  • Preference will be given to Yaoundé-based applicants.

The Foundation works in partnership with local governments, policymakers, private enterprises, and civil society organizations to improve livelihoods. 

Position Overview

The Operations Manager will play a central role in ensuring the effective, efficient, and smooth functioning of all operational aspects of the Denis and Lenora Foretia Foundation. Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Manager, the Operations Manager will oversee internal systems, administrative functions, logistics, procurement, facilities management, and cross-departmental coordination to support the Foundation’s strategic goals and growing portfolio of programs.

 Key Responsibilities:

  1. Organizational Operations & Systems Management
  • Develop, implement, and refine operational systems and workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day internal operations of the Foundation to ensure smooth execution.
  • Optimize administrative and logistical procedures across departments.
  • Lead process evaluations and recommend improvements based on performance indicators.
  • Ensure data management systems are properly implemented and maintained.
  1. Team Coordination & Administrative Oversight
  • Supervise administrative and operations staff, including assigning tasks and evaluating performance.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination between teams.
  • Ensure administrative support is provided efficiently across all programs.
  • Manage internal reporting mechanisms to ensure compliance with deadlines.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and oversee staff capacity-building initiatives, ensuring ongoing professional development.
  1. Procurement, Asset & Facilities Management
  • Oversee procurement processes in compliance with donor and organizational policies.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including performance evaluation and contract compliance.
  • Maintain an inventory system to track office equipment, assets, and supplies.
  • Supervise facility management, including maintenance, repairs, and security.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, trainings, travel, and events.
  • Ensure effective waste management and sustainability practices within facilities.
  1. Budget & Financial Operations Support
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to support budget development and monitoring.
  • Ensure cost control mechanisms and value-for-money practices in procurement.
  • Assist project teams with financial planning for events, logistics, and resources.
  1. Compliance, Risk & Contract Management
  • Ensure that all operational procedures comply with national labor laws, donor regulations, and internal policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date operational policies and ensure staff are aware and trained on their application.
  • Manage the review and archiving of service agreements, MoUs, and contracts.
  • Identify operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Liaise with legal advisors and insurance providers when necessary.
  1. Strategic Planning & Executive Support
  • Provide high-level operational support to the Senior Management Team.
  • Participate in strategic planning, especially in areas affecting operations, staffing, and logistics.
  • Establish and oversee a key performance evaluation system to measure success, optimize workflows, and drive continuous improvement
  • Collect and analyze data to generate insights that support strategic decisions.
  • Coordinate special projects and cross-cutting initiatives as assigned by leadership.
  • Represent the Operations Department in internal and external meetings as needed.

 Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Certifications such as PMP, CAPM, or relevant event planning credentials.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations, administration, or project management, preferably in a nonprofit, development, or donor-funded organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools.
