Library Internship

The Goethe-Institut Kamerun is offering a full-time library internship in 3 categories from January 19th, 2026, to December 31st, 2026. The internship is aimed at information and documentation professionals who are completing their training and/or are already working in the field, and secondary school pupils.

The Goethe-Institut e.V. is the globally active cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany. It aims to promote knowledge of the German language abroad, to foster international cultural co-operation and to convey a comprehensive image of Germany by providing information on cultural, social and political life.

Duties
Welcoming and guiding library users
Participating in the processing and circulation of the document collection
Contributing to cultural events and projects
Supporting library communications (posters, social media, etc.)
Assisting with administrative tasks, including cash management, invoicing, quotes, etc.

Requirements

• Higher education (BA) in a field related to information and documentation / or at least three years of experience in the field (School attendance certificate for an Introductory intern)
• Very good knowledge of French and English (written and spoken). Knowledge of German at least at the A2 level is an advantage.
• Strong affinity with digital media and digital tools
• Enjoy working in a team and with a diverse audience: adults, young people and children
• Flexibility and availability to work evenings and/or weekends
